Gallery Notes:

These original vintage movie poster One-Sheets and Lobby Cards are offered for sale to the public for the first time as posted to this website, KerrisdaleGallery.com. They have been stored away for almost forty years, having been purchased from a travelling salesman who who visited our retail store in the early 1980’s. The salesman explained that his acquaintances purchased a building in Los Angeles and found a stash of vintage movie posters which had been stored at some point in time, and forgotten. To sell the movie posters, the salesman filled his van and made a road trip up the West Coast and across the border into Canada. So we bought his story and the last of his inventory.

  • The movie posters are being sold “as is” with the Condition described honestly and in detail.
  • Movie Poster One Sheets have been folded and will ship flat in the same folded manner as they have been stored.
  • One Sheets may benefit from restoration, which involves first mounting the poster to acid-free paper then mounting it onto a linen backing. Reputable companies providing restoration service may be researched and located online.
  • Please know that vintage movie posters were printed as inexpensive advertising and were not intended to be preserved into the future as cherished works of art reflecting a specific time, which is what they have become. As such, most of them were handled or stored with indifference and have been lost or destroyed. Surviving authentic vintage movie posters could have their pinholes, stains and handling marks be considered their “beauty marks”, as this is evidence of their rich history of being printed, distributed and exhibited to be gazed upon by unknown numbers of movie-goers of a previous generation.
